Resonant peak splitting for ballistic conductance in magnetic superlattices

چکیده
We investigate theoretically the resonant splitting of ballistic conductance peaks in magnetic superlattices. It is found that, for magnetic superlattices with periodically arranged n identical magnetic-barriers, there exists a general (n − 1)-fold resonant peak splitting rule for ballistic conductance, which is the analogy of the (n − 1)-fold resonant splitting for transmission in n-barrier electric superlattices (R. Tsu and L. Esaki, Appl. Phys. Lett. 22, 562 (1973)). PACS numbers: 73.40.Gk, 73.40.Kp, 03.65.Ge

Observation of bias-induced resonant tunneling peak splitting in a quantum dot
We have observed that, in zero magnetic field, a dc bias across a lateral confmed quantum dot (QD) splits each resonant peak in the differential conductance versus the gate voltage measurement into two. The splitting is nearly linear with the applied bias V, . Temperature-dependence study indicates that the corresponding energy separation between the two splitting peaks is close to eV, . A mode...

The magnetoresistance of a one-dimensional electron gas in a metallic ferromagnetic nanowire containing two atomic-size domain walls has been investigated in the presence of spin-orbit interaction. The magnetoresistance is calculated in the ballistic regime, within the Landauer-Büttiker formalism. It has been demonstrated that the conductance of a magnetic nanowire with double domain walls...
متن کاملSplit-Channel Ballistic Transport in an InSb Nanowire.
We report an experimental study of one-dimensional (1D) electronic transport in an InSb semiconducting nanowire. A total of three bottom gates are used to locally deplete the nanowire, creating a ballistic quantum point contact with only a few conducting channels. In a magnetic field, the Zeeman splitting of the corresponding 1D sub-bands is revealed by the emergence of conductance plateaus at ...
متن کاملQuantum beating in ring conductance: Observation of spin chiral states and Berry’s phase
– We propose and demonstrate experimentally a novel configuration for observing spin interference effects in mesoscopic rings. Using this configuration, in which the conducting ring and the tangential current lead form a single collimating contact, we have observed the spin quantum beating in the Aharonov-Bohm conductance oscillations. We demonstrate that the beating is the result of the superp...

We study spin dependent phonomena in superconducting junctions in both ballistic and diffusive regimes. For ballistic junctions we study both ferromagnet / sand d-wave superconductor junctions and two dimensional electron gas / s-wave superconductor junctions with Rashba spin-orbit coupling. It is shown that the exchange field alway suppresses the conductance while the Rashba spin-orbit couplin...
